Most parents and guardians have mistaken parental love and guidance, for what money can provide. The best they do to their growing children is to give them money.
This usually happens to the so called “well to do families.” Parents from such families are too busy with their jobs and careers, than to take care of their children.
Usually, they leave their houses very early in the morning and come back very late in the evening when their children are already asleep. Such children say that, they were brought up by the house helps.
Under such circumstances, as the children grow, they sought to find love and care elsewhere where they believe they will get it in plenty. This makes them spend most of their time with friends, than they would have done it with their parents.
Due to the busy nature of their parents, they rarely notice that their children are growing to different stages of life, and it is where their guidance is highly needed, especially, in differentiating right from wrong, and what type of friends to have.
Statistics show that, at least 3 out of 5 “well to do families” have children who are either drug addicts or their daughters have kids out of wedlock or children suffering from STIs and HIV/AIDS.
It is a high time parents thought on how to deal with their growing little kids. It will be at least good for them if they put money matters be the second priority after their children who need parental love, guidance and care.
