Did you know that that waste can be turned into money? I bet not or very few people are aware about it. Every waste material is useful in one way or another. Take plastics bottles for example, instead of throwing them away polluting the environment, they can be recycled and used to make other useful materials like plastic plates and cups.

 Another example may be that of the unwanted vegetables, instead of dumping them, they can be used to make compost manure which in return is used as fertilizer.

 We should also come up with other better materials for carrying our personal items other than using plastic paper bags. What if we the government brings the idea of using kiondos?

It will be for the best of our country if we decide to end this pollution problem before we think of how the International countries affect the ozone layer. It is better done than said and they say charity begins at home.

Lets us start from the humble beginning while we move up. I hereby call for any interested investor to help save our environment and especially the slum areas. In this way one will not just be tackling one problem but will be killing two birds using one stone or has it never occurred to you that as you go opening these recycling companies you will also be creating employment as many unemployed people looking for jobs.

Every now and then, students sit for the national examinations, cases of cheating hardly pass on without getting noticed.

This vice has been there since time immemorial, the buck stops with who, is it the government, parents, teachers or the students?

Most of the 2007 candidates’ education career got ruined. Many of them cheated in the examinations as they had leakages, many were innocent, but their mean grade got affected. Example is a boy who was from a poor family, who had scored A but his grade was later on lowered to A-minus, affecting his dream career of studying medicine, yet his financial status cannot allow him to study medicine on the parallel degree program me

Many are the times that government officials linked to this vice refuse to step aside for investigations to be carried out and the culprit punished, since they are the ones who are always the first ones to get access to the examination papers before they get distributed to schools.

Still, parents are also to blame. Some of them help in purchasing the exam papers for their children, while some do not warn their daughters and sons on the dangers of exam cheating

On the other hand we ought to ask ourselves, is it laziness or greed that leads to this vice?

This usually happens to the so called “well to do families.” Parents from such families are too busy with their jobs and careers, than to take care of their children.

Usually, they leave their houses very early in the morning and come back very late in the evening when their children are already asleep. Such children say that, they were brought up by the house helps.

Under such circumstances, as the children grow, they sought to find love and care elsewhere where they believe they will get it in plenty. This makes them spend most of their time with friends, than they would have done it with their parents.

Due to the busy nature of their parents, they rarely notice that their children are growing to different stages of life, and it is where their guidance is highly needed, especially, in differentiating right from wrong, and what type of friends to have.

Statistics show that, at least 3 out of 5 “well to do families” have children who are either drug addicts or their daughters have kids out of wedlock or children suffering from STIs and HIV/AIDS.

It is a high time parents thought on how to deal with their growing little kids. It will be at least good for them if they put money matters be the second priority after their children who need parental love, guidance and care.

Everyone waited anxiously, others foresaw danger and transfer their family to their rural home while others who never thought of any danger or maybe had no means to do anything waited for what fate had in store for them.

The day finally came and the queues in every polling station were as long as expected. Every voter made sure they had cast their votes in the ballot box. People relaxed, sit back and waited for the results, but things started getting bad when the official annunciation date passed with no results.

Things turned from bad to worse when the results were finally out. It was then when a neighbor turned against a neighbor and a friend against a friend and people fought and blood was spilt but if you had asked anyone back then what they fighting for am pretty sure they would have had no answer.

The fight was more rampant in slums than in estates and other big areas the reason being that the slum dwellers were denied even the opportunity to think for themselves the reason being they are poor and therefore paid to fought, the only way they could get something to fill their stomachs.

It was a bigger issue than can be imagined. It really affected the economy of Kenya.

I hope in the coming general election there will be no violence since we are all Kenyan and we should live with harmony, peace and love.
